Isoletto Pool Club and the Leisure Deck

Level 7 is where a hot Brisbane afternoon goes. One part of it is for hotel guests only — the pools, sauna, steam room and gym of Isoletto Pool Club. The rest is the Leisure Deck, open to anyone.

Isoletto Pool Club, in the operator's words

The official page describes three infinity-style pools with views over the Brisbane River, a pool bar, a sauna and steam room, an indoor gym, sun lounges, and "wet lounges" built into the pool itself. In the cooler months the water is heated: from 28°C in the two featured pools to 32°C in what the page calls an oversized swim spa. Food and drinks can be ordered to your lounge, and DJs play on some days.

Hours

Monday12:00 – 6:00 pm
Tuesday12:00 – 6:00 pm
Wednesday12:00 – 7:00 pm

Friday12:00 – 8:00 pm
Saturday12:00 – 8:00 pm
Sunday12:00 – 6:00 pm

Notice the shape of that week: the pools open at noon, not in the morning, and they close earliest on Sunday. That is why our plan puts the swim on Saturday afternoon after check-in, rather than on Sunday before check-out at 11 am — on Sunday morning the pool club is not yet open.

Who can use it

The gym, sauna and steam room

The indoor gym, sauna and steam room are part of the pool club. The official pages list them, but not their separate hours, equipment or any age limit beyond the pool rule. We also did not find a spa with treatments — massages, facials — on The Star Brisbane's pages, so we do not describe one. If that matters to your weekend, ask us to check when you send your dates.

The Leisure Deck: the public part of Level 7

Around the pool club is the Leisure Deck, an open-air space 37 metres above street level. The events page compares it to more than two football fields; the FAQ puts it at 12,000 square metres and describes it as a place for sunset picnics. It is open to the public, reached by the George Street lifts, and it can be hired for events — 600 seated or 2,500 standing, according to the events page.

Live sport and food on the deck

The operator's "Live on Leisure Deck" page lists live sport on screen with food, for all ages, on Fridays from 5 to 10 pm and Saturdays from 3 to 10 pm, weather permitting. For a family that cannot go into the 18+ bars inside the casino, this is the obvious place to watch a game.

Skyline Cinema

On some evenings the deck becomes an outdoor cinema. Bookings are essential, seating ranges from a bean bag to a café table to your own picnic rug (the cheapest option was listed from $5 a person when we checked on 31 October 2026), and if the weather is bad the operator contacts ticket-holders by midday to cancel and refund. Screenings listed for November 2026 start at 6:30 pm: Wonka on Wednesday 18 November and The Hunger Games on Wednesday 25 November.

How the pool fits into a weekend

Saturday

  1. Check in

Drop the bags, change, take the lift to Level 7.

  2. Swim

Three pools; the warmest water is in the swim spa.

  3. Sauna, then shower

Leave time to dress for the evening.

  4. Up to the Sky Deck

The pool club closes at 8 pm on Saturdays; the deck stays open until midnight.

Sunday

  1. Gym or a walk

The pools are closed until noon, so this is a morning for the bridge.

  2. Check out

If you have a late flight, ask whether the hotel can hold your bags.

  3. Leisure Deck

The public deck is still yours after check-out.

  4. Lunch

The Terrace is one level down from the lobby side; see our restaurant page.

Send us your weekend dates

Tell us when you arrive and leave, how many of you there are and which room you are after. Our room desk checks availability and the current rate at The Star Grand for those dates, then writes back by email with what we found — usually the same day.

A request is not a booking and we never ask for card details on this site. If you like what we send, the reservation itself is made with the hotel or with the booking partner that holds the room.

How we are paid: if your request turns into a confirmed stay, the hotel or the booking partner that completes the reservation pays us a commission. You pay the same rate either way — see our revenue disclosure.

We use your details only to answer this request. No card details, no newsletter. Not the hotel's own booking form — the official site is star.com.au/brisbane.

Thank you — your request reached our desk. We will reply by email, usually within one working day.
