What every room has
Across the standard rooms the hotel lists the same base: The Star's own bedding and pillows, an integrated control system for the room, complimentary wireless internet, a personal safe, a 55-inch television and a modern bathroom. River King Rooms add a writing desk. The two accessible categories have handrails in the bathroom. The suites move up to open-plan living with a lounge and a dining table, two televisions and a freestanding bathtub.
River or city: how to choose
The size class does not change with the view: a City King and a River King are both about 40 square metres. What changes is what you look at. River rooms face the Brisbane River and South Bank, which is the view most people picture when they book Queen's Wharf. City rooms face the CBD.
For a weekend we would pay attention to the view on Saturday evening, when the river and the bridge light up, and less to it on Sunday morning, when you will be out on the bridge itself. If the price difference for your dates is small, ask for river. If it is large, a city room and an hour on the Sky Deck gives you the same river from higher up.

Booking an accessible room
The operator asks guests who need an accessible room to call Reservations and to mention any additional requirements at the time of booking. When you send a request through us, choose "Accessible room" in the form and write what you need in the notes; we pass that on word for word. More detail is on our accessibility page.
What the hotel does not publish
We could not find on the official pages the number of rooms in each category, which floors the standard rooms are on, or the cancellation terms for each rate. Rates change daily and we do not print them; when you send a request, we check the rate for your dates and tell you what applies.
