City King Room: the standard king, facing the city
The City King Room is the hotel's base king room — about 40 square metres on average, a king bed, and a view of the CBD rather than the river.
What the hotel lists
| Average size | 40 sqm |
|---|---|
| Bed | King-size, with The Star's own bedding and pillows |
| Outlook | City |
| In the room | Integrated room control system, complimentary wireless internet, personal safe, 55-inch LCD television |
| Bathroom | Modern bathroom with bathing amenities |
Who it suits
Two people on a short weekend who plan to spend the evening on the Sky Deck and the morning on the bridge. Forty square metres is generous for a city hotel room, and the room has everything you need for two nights without the price of a view you will mostly see from elsewhere.
If you are coming for a game or a concert and will be out most of the time, this is the category we would usually ask for first.
What to weigh
The view is of the city. Some people prefer that at night. If watching the river from bed is the reason you are coming, look at the River King Room instead — same size class, river outlook.
Two adults and a small child fit with a cot, which the hotel provides free when available. A rollaway bed is charged and limited to one per room, so a family of four is better off in a City Twin Room with two double beds.
