Privacy notice
We collect as little as we can: the details you type into the room-request form, and the emails you send us. No advertising cookies, no analytics, no newsletter.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, email, optional phone | To answer your request and to contact you about it |
| Dates, number of guests, room choice, reason for the trip, notes | To check rooms and rates for you |
| The page you sent the form from | To know which page the question came from |
| Your consent tick | To record that you agreed to be contacted about the request |
| Emails you send to hello@queenswharfweekend.com | To answer them |
We do not ask for card details, identity documents or dates of birth, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Who receives it
Our desk, and — only to check or make the reservation you asked about — the hotel or the booking partner that holds the room. We do not sell or rent personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Where it is stored
The site and the form are hosted on a DigitalOcean server in Sydney, Australia, and served through Cloudflare, which processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Requests are stored on our own systems. Email to hello@queenswharfweekend.com is forwarded by Cloudflare's email routing to our mailbox. DigitalOcean and Cloudflare are companies based in the United States, so some data may be handled outside Australia.
Cookies, analytics and maps
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Fonts are served from our own server. The only third-party content is Google Maps: on the home page the map loads only after you press the button; on the getting-there page it is embedded and loads as you scroll to it. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under its privacy policy. Links to Google Maps open Google's site.
How long we keep it
As long as we need it to answer your request and to account for any commission that follows from a confirmed stay. You can ask us to delete your request at any time and we will, unless we must keep a record of a completed booking.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to hello@queenswharfweekend.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
